"Gabala" PFC gained its greatest success in 2007/08 season. Our team winning against the teams MOIK, "Simurg" and "Baku" received a certificate for semi-final matches of Azerbaijan Cup. Although in this stage it lost the match to "Khazar-Lankaren" due to the results of two matches, it became in the same list of four strongest teams of Azerbaijan. Besides, 2007/08 season was the best season for "Gabala" in Azerbaijan Premier League - 6th place with 36 points.
The only championship gained by our team was in 2005/06 season. "Gabala" called "Gilan" at the time was the winner of the first group of Azerbaijan Championship. Our team won 22 matches out of 30, end in a draw for 6 times, and won against all its rivals with 72 points. In the very season our football players not losing 24 matches systematically put their signatures to series successful and unique.
