Gabala’s three judokas won medals in the fourth day of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.

In the men’s tournament, Rufat Ismayilov and Ushangi Kokauri gained gold medals. Our national team beat Kirghizstan with 5:0 in the round of 16 before winning over Turkey with 3:0. Then in the semifinal, they defeated Uzbekistan by 4:1. Ushangi Kokauri’s challenge in the final put the Azerbaijan national team ahead with 3:2. Gabala’s Kifayat Gasimova is a part of the Azerbaijan nation judoka girls’ team challenged in the Group B and won over Uzbekistan by 3:2. The national provisional lost to Turkey in the final by 0:5 and ended with silverware.

Gabala boxer Tamerlan Abdullayev, 69 kg, beat Tulasimaraam Tarumalingam with 3:0 in his second appearance. The red-black challenger got a foothold among the winners just ahead of the semifinal against Ilya Ochkin this Wednesday. 

Azerbaijan national U23 football team, including Gabala’s Rashad Sadigov, Tellur Mutallimov and Elvin Jamalov came on their last match in the group stage and ended second after a goalless draw against Morocco. Now the provisional squad are going to face Aljazeera Thursday.
