Gabala had a big hope to take their first away win over Baku as they were keeping the unbeaten start to 2012, even after defeating Garabagh in the final of first six. The fixture was of the 26th round of the Unibank Premier League.

Having the ball most for half, Gabala could open the scoring in early minutes when Yannick Kamanan"s goalbound shot was deflected by Marco Sharlia. But in the 16th minute, the Gabala forward was the better than the home keeper when his header after Mahir Shukurov"s superb shot that denied by the post finally found the net – 0:1. Now it was the seventh league goal of the French striker. The half could have been finished worse for home side at some occasions that Gabala missed their chances. Baku"s only two remembering efforts were done by Rahman Hajiyev with off-target shots.

The pace of the second period started with advanced spirit of Baku as it seemed just a matter of time before Winston Parks"s scissors hit that led to equalizer. Gabala could go better again, but Deon Burton failed.

And the all-important goal was scored in the last extra time by Bak"s Aleksandar Solic, being introduced in the second half. The home forward fired in the ball denied by Pavels Doroshevs. So, Gabala defeated to Baku again through the same deficit of 26 November last year- 2:1.

Comments:
Fatih Kavlak: “We started with some cracking display and scored a goal. But late on, mistakes led us to loss. But we keep our confidence for reaching to Euro cup competitions as the team are still having the chance to be on top tires”.

Novruz Azimov: “Today the fate seemed to be in our side anyway. But it does not mean the win is a by-product. We want to finish the season on higher tires than the fifth, and the team will do their best to win every forthcoming encounters. I am with Faith Kavlak sharing his disappointing feelings coming out in closing minutes”.
