Fariz Mammadov training for European Championship

Gabala"s Fariz Mammadov, representing Azerbaijan at professional boxing scene, is preparing to his next fight to get a tally to the European championship. He reveals some details to gabalafc.az about his opponent:

“My next fight is fixed to middle December by the Gabala Sport Club. It is going to be for the tally to both WBO and IBF European championship. I will met against German Matthias Pelk in Baku. He took victory from all his 20 professional matches. The fight will be aired live by Eurosport TV. On the same day, some professional boxers of Azerbaijan will fight for different titles".  

Mammadov is training at the home training camp in Gabala with 2 Ukrainian boxers. He adds:

"We started to training camp in Gabala since 9th October. The early stage of the preparations include general physical workouts. The Gabala stage of the proceedings will take 2 weeks. There are also two Ukrainian boxers training in Gabala. One of them is Sergey Fedchenko, famous WBO champion from Europe. The other one is young fighter Valentin Golovko, 61 kg. He also won his all 20 professional matches. They both will come on the ring in December. We are training under the lead of the same coach -- Viktor Demchenko, who is the first-class boxing coach from Ukraine. Both 2 boxers are students of him. Demchenko is not in Gabala right now and we are supported by Gabala Box Department"s coach Ramiz Mirkamilov. On 24th October, we will leave to Ukraine to have 6-week training camp".
