Filming FC Gabala

FC Gabala starts new project on disseminating Azerbaijan football in Europe. English director and writer Tom Watt and producer Simon Bisset record our club into a short movie starting by actions in Baku and Gabala. Tony Adams, the advisor of the club President, is also on the scene. Gabalafc.az shares some information about the target of the film. Firstly Watt reveals a few details on how the idea came up:

“I have some close relationships with Tony Adams. You always watch on your close one no matter where he acts. So, I have an eye on him since he works for Gabala. After he changed his position from coaching to advisor, we decided to make a short film. It will be presented at “Kicking + Screening”, the international premier soccer/football film festival to be held during 28 September – 4 October 2012. The film will be among many others from different countries. I believe demonstration of FC Gabala at such a high-level event will be of benefit for divulging the football in Azerbaijan to the world”.

The film talks about situation of Gabala prior to and after the big projects in the club, Adams adds:

“We started recording from Baku. Because it would work out incomplete information about the club if we take the pace right from Gabala. Filming projects from past and current, we just intend to divulge that how Gabala, a great club of the future, started and to which level we reached up. So it will provide easy understanding and comparison of progress periods of Gabala. We aim to make a larger film at the follow-up stage of the idea, but it is supposed to be after finishing projects that are in progress today”.

Tony also said the movie will hold general information on Azerbaijan and domestic football a little.
