Gabala beat Sumgayit by 1:0 in the second league leg of the season. The home match started with quick attacks by the home side. Roman Grigorchuk’s red-black team gained the lead in early minutes setting up threats against Sumgayit. Steeven Jozef-Monroz gave the first trouble to the opponent keeper. Gabala lost Ilgar Gurbanov injured and changed in early minutes.

Sumgayit looked not willing to go back to the defense and tested our keeper Dmytro Bezotosniy denied two opponent shots.
Although some more efforts going more into the game, Gabala were unable to score. Later on, a superb cross from Urfan in the left found Tellur Mutallimov finished clinically – 1:0.

The sides launched mutual attack in the start of the second half. Mutallimov could have doubled Gabala’s lead in the 60th minute but saw his effort tipped wide. He gave another long-range shot right seeing the opponent keeper left the goal but the ball passed the target wide again.

It was Gabala keeping the lead longer in the second period but both sides shots were off the target. During the course of the match, Grigorchuk introduced Asif Mammadov to his 50th league match.

The winner goal of the night reached to be the fifth by Mutallimov for Gabala.
