Gabala ended the 23rd tour match of the Azerbaijan Premier League by 1:1 against Sabail.

The sides took quick pace to the match. Gabala looked trying the gain the lead but the visitors seemed more passionate. The team from capital Baku evidently were the pushing side during the half with some pulsating occasions. But our keeper Agil Mammadov held on clear. But Gabala were unable to set up any threat during the first period. And Filip Ozobic’s close-range shot was off-target.

After the break, Gabala coach Roman Grigorchuk introduced Famoussa Kone and Gismat Aliyev that well affected the course of the game. The home side gradually gained the lead. But the opener was scored by Sabail anyway as Vugar Nadirov set up a cross shot from the left before Fahmin Muradbayli finished clearly with a follow-up effort. Just a minute after the goal, Faruk Miya in the box went too close to doubling the visiting side’s lead but he failed.

Gabala stepped up their attacks setting up 4 to 5 threats against Sabail goal keeper Elkhan Ahmadov denied Ruslan Gurbanov and Famoussa Kone before some more occasions. Gabala’s performance came to life that seemed as a matter of time before Ilgar Gorbanov’s cross found Kone finished clinically. This was registered as the seventh goal by the latter for the red-black squad.

Later, Ozobic looked very close to put Gabala one ahead with two efforts failed to hit the target.

The result left Gabala with the fourth 1:1 draw on the trot after three matches against Keshla, Sumgayit and Zira.
