Gabala, a developing football club of Azerbaijan, shares its report on 2011 remarkable successes alphabetically:

 

A – Adams: It would be right to say Tony Adams is the person mostly mentioned with Gabala’s name in both foreign and domestic media in 2011. Leaving Gabala, Adams made one of the most mentionable events of the year.

 

Amili: Gabala, grinding out big results in facilities in 2011, gave a new state-of-the-art stadium into use in Amili village of Gabala. Though the field was considered for cup games of youth, Gabala received Sumgayit Shahar at this pitch in the 15thweek of the Premier League of 2011/12, because of snow covered the grass.

 

B – Barcelona: Gabala made a start to collaboration with the number one team of the world in December, when Gabala was visited by the Spanish team’s delegation under the command of UEFA’s Pro class coach Josep Moratalla. Barcelona’s representatives launched a ten-day trainings for Gabala’s coaching staff.

 

C – Champions: These are our Academy’s, U-13 and U-14 teams, who have beaten all their opponents in the year.

 

D – Djiehoua: Though Serge Djiehoua was one of the high-level legionnaires in 2011, the African forward played for Gabala only two months. The matter was his insufficiency as a striker.  

 

Dodo: Joining us in the early season, Luis Hilario Dodo was shortly adopted to the club to be the leader. Although he was just a midfielder, Dodo now is under spotlight as a forward digging in to earn, through six goal shots, the status of Gabala’s most accurate player.

 

E – Errea: FC Gabala and Errea Azerbaijan signed 3-year sponsorship agreement on 2 January 2011, where they are determined Errea will provide Gabala’s all teams, as well as the lower age groups, with uniforms by the end of the 2012/2013 season.

 

F – FITC: Gabala’s Department of Football In the Community run one of the most mentionable projects, where underage girls in Vandam village of Gabala are undertaking football trainings.

 

G – Garabagh: The last match-up was against Garabagh with a draw. The first derby of the year also was against the team of Aghdam winning over Gabala 0:3. 

 

H – Hyundai: Collaboration between FC Gabala and Hyundai Auto Azerbaijanwas proceeded in successful motion in 2011. It should be notified with the document that, Gabala is the first club in Azerbaijan currying advertisement picture of a company beyond its founder at a uniform.

 

J – Jala tournament: That is the first international competition between clubs in Azerbaijan, which was participated by Dila and Spartak of Georgia, as well as Kapaz and Gabala. Dila came up as a champion.

 

K – Kavlak: Since he was appointed the coach after Tony had left Gabala, Fatih Kavlak is one of the mostly mentioned with the club. Formerly being the assistant of Adams, the Turkish coach mate his debut beating Neftchi, the match that was of the highest order.

 

L – Liverpul – London: The home team and U-14 of Gabala attended trainings in London, kind of trip that was firstly in Azerbaijan’s football history.

 

Despite our players under fourteen defeated to Liverpool, Manchester United, Everton, Blackburn, Sheffield United, they got a confidence boost from such a trip.

 

Another significant point was in summer when our home team spent their training period in London.

 

P – President: President Ilham Aliyev visited FC Gabala’s headquarters and took a view on construction operations at the club’s facilities- campus of fields and training bases.

 

Pupils’ Fan Club: That is of all-important projects we run in secondary schools to popularize football in Gabala. During the season, we provided possibility for hundreds of fans to watch our matches at the stadium for free, also free and safety transport from and back home.

 

S – Sumgayit Shahar: Beating them, Gabala gained their first league win for the 2011/2012 season. That was our first match-up against Sumgayit Shahar ever in Gabala’s record path.

 

Shakhtar: Starting to collaborate with Ukraine’s FC Shakhtar was the most important step on the way into the European football.

Gabala’s general manager Zaur Azizov, marketing manager Samad Nasibov and deputy director of the Academy Nail Karimov made visitation to the Ukraine’s club.

Shortly after, Executive Director of Strategy, Commercial and Marketing at FC Shakhtar Joe Palmer and director of the club’s Academy Patrick van Leuven took a responded visiting Gabala to discuss prospects of the collaboration and opportunities for further relationships.

 

T –Turan: It would be not wrong to say Tovuz’s representatives were the greatest chance to beat as we won four back-to-back games against them. This year, we have beaten our tally over Turan with total eight victories.
