Gabala took 2:0 victory in the Azerbaijan Premier League’s 19th tour as they hosted Qarabagh for their forty first tie.

The side started carefully and there was not any pulsating moment until Roman Grigorchuk’s red-black side opened the scoring in the 30th minute. Tellur Mutallimov in the right threw in to set up his teammates to send the ball into the box two times. At the second effort, Sergei Zenjov appeared close to the spot and gave a great shot past the visitor keeper. This was the twelfth goal of the Estonian for Gabala.

The goal prompted Qarabagh to step up their inroads into the home defense but Gabala held on and our keeper Dmytro Bezotosniy gave a great save to his teammates denying Ansi Agolli with a 23-meter drive. Qarabagh took the momentum with quick attacks as the home side were trying to feed back with counter attacks.

Filip Ozobic’s effort missed the target from a promising position.

The second period started with quick attacks from Qarabagh again and tested Bezotosniy some on some efforts. The Ukrainian goalkeeper stayed clear.

Dmytro Subotic capitalized on the ball and converted to Javid Huseynov shot wide from a close position.

Another pulsating moment arrived when Daniel’s powerful shot was denied by two efforts from the opponent keeper.

After going more into the second period, Grigorchuk introduced Ozobic who got a great cross from Nika Kvekveskirinin, the top productive league player, and fired the ball that the keeper was unable to deal with - 2:0. This was registered as his eleventh goal.

After the final whistle, Gabala reached up to the top place on the league table again after six tours.
