Gabala hosts World Cup Final

Gabala hosted the opening ceremony of the World Cup Final of Olympic Shootings at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center. After Azerbaijan”s national anthem, attendants listened to the speeches by some domestic and overseas senior officials – SC Gabala President Tale Heydarov, deputy minister of youth and sports Ismayil Ismayilov, International Sports Shooting Federation President Olegario Vaskes Ranyan and his Secretary General Frans Srayber, head of the Gabala Governmental Power Sabuhi Abdullayev and Azerbaijan Shooting Federation President Hafiz Jafarov. They talked about the significance of the tournament for Azerbaijan where high-order European Games 2015 was held.

It is emphasized that up to 2,000 challengers from nearly 100 countries have joined the final organized by Gabala Shooting Club and Azerbaijan Shooting Federation with support by the National Olympic Committee.

Then Olegario Vaskes Ranya announced the official opening before the anthem of the international federation.

The official part of the ceremony followed a musical program.

It is worth to notice that, the World Cup”s earlier 5 rounds were held in USA, Germany, UAA, Cyprus and Mexico during the last year when the victors earned tally to the final being held in Gabala.

Being fixed for 8 to 16 August, the all-important round stays on the International Sports Shooting Federation ranking table after the European and World championships.

To be starting at the Gabala Stand and Arrow Shooting Complex, the final will award winners with 34 tallies of 17 types to Olympic 2016 to be held in Rio-de Janeiro, Brazil.
