Gabala’s two judokas, challenging also for the Azerbaijan national team, highlighted the red-black club at the Lignano Junior European Cup 2018 in Italy. Rovshan Aliyev, 55 kg and Rashkhan Bakhshaliyev won medals. Aliyev beat Ido Rabin (Israel), Wolfgang Schneider (Austria) and Antonio Corsale (Italy) hitting to semifinal. And Rashkhan Bkhshaliyev won on Angelo Lionti (Italy), Thomas Matyo (France) and Mircha Tomesku (Romania). The latter struck the gold medal beating another Azerbaijan fighter Balabay Aghayev in the final as Rovshan finished with the bronze after losing to Mattia Martelloni (Italy).
