Grigorchuk- We'll not sit on back lines

Gabala coach Roman Grigorchuk and Croatian midfielder Filip Ozobic talks to pre-match press conference just ahead of the match against Saint-Etienne as the red-black side will host the fourth tour of the UEFA Europa League in the Group C. The Ukrainian Boss says:

“Bagali Dabo will not field tomorrow for sure with his injury. Recovered Nika Kvekveskiri, Rashad Sadigov and Elvin Jamalov may play in this match. They are still going on with their trainings and I will give my final decision about them tomorrow. We will stay tied to our own principles making up the line-up with most ready footballers.

Gabala want to take the group stage but the reality is that we are playing against a side of the top championship. Actually our group experience itself is a great phenomenon. If we go into the next round of 32, then what about Anderlecht, Saint-Etienne and Mainz in the group? We had played head to head with Krasnodar and PAOK. But this time there is a great difference between Gabala and the top championship side. But anyway we will try and hold on not to give it up easily.

I explain to my team how great experience we have got from all these ties of the EL. Even a single point would mean really phenomenon for us. But leaving the group with no points is not a costly failure when you understand the main point of your experience at the tournament. We still need more years for victories.

Although tomorrow’s game is the all-important for us, we'll not seat on the back lines. It is possible to defend in full strength and launch counter attacks to win. But this is not our style and we will not play this way as long as I am at Gabala. We have to learn attacking and preventing quick counter attacks.”

Ozobich adds:

“I felt convinced when I scored against Lille. But this time it is really a tough mission against Saint Etienne. Our team may be opposed by challenge if any player will not play in their best. The rivals are very strong and we suffer from a lack of our some footballers in the staff. But Saint-Etienne are much different from us with their 25 players all in the same level.”
