Grigorchuk: "We are focused on our own fixtures and victories"

Gabala head coach Roman Grigorchuk talks to media reporters just a day before the UEFA EL 2nd Qualifying Round’s home match against Jagiellonia Bialystok (Poland). The Ukrainian skipper says: “I’m sure about a good form of those players who are still with us since the first day. I believe they are ready to a game against these opponents. But we can’t say this about those who joined up the team during the training camp. Some new transfers are not ready tomorrow’s event. It’s the third year we have been updating the squad. Although I consider this natural, it doesn’t mean we have to change the team every year. This year, the challenge is that they came after rest having no workouts. We have to win both ties and take the round. After this round, we will see a significant change in the teamwork in the next stage. The opponent side keeps the basic part of the team from the last season. Jagiellonia is a serious, well organized and sustainable team. It is well evident as they were too close to being Poland champion of the last season. Gabala made some many changes in the last two seasons’ team, too, but we reached to the UEFA EL group stage. And this time, we want to drive bigger results from this term’s EL. I feel only happy as Azerbaijan clubs become able to play in European cups. Other teams’ result have no effect to our psychological form and we are focused on our own fixtures and victories. We have our own style and are trying to fix the new transfers to this, too. We need to think not about the group stage, but about winning tomorrow’s match”.
