Grigorchuk - "We are still having chances to take the round"

Gabala head coach Roman Grigorchuk talks to media reporters right after the 1:1 home match of the UEFA Europa League’s 2nd Qualifying Round against Jagiellonia today. The Ukrainian boss says:

“It hasn’t happened any surprising bad thing tonight. We knew that the opponents are a strong side having well-organized squad and their own playing style. We were ready to see their better performance. Gabala failed to keep the control on the ball in early minutes. The team needed time to remove their stress after the poor start. The difference is that Jagiellonia played two games before us this season and are having only little changes in the staff. This was well evident during the show.

It was Gurbanov’s own wish to be changed and I don’t know why. It’s not the fact that our preparation is poor like past seasons. Actually, physical preparation is a strong part of our possessions except some down games. Sure, we are not in our best form now.

Araz Abdullayev wasn’t in the starting line-up tonight and I my hope is that he will play better in the return match.

Now we have to be cool in our matches. The draw against a strong side is a natural result. I think we are still having chances to take the round. I introduced most ready players in the line-up and did proper changes during the game. It’ll be the same in the return match, too, and we are having five training days yet. We can go to changes in the line-up only after this event or it may be stay unchanged”.
