Gabala defeated Inter 2:1 in the 26th tour of the Topaz Premier League as the 3rd round reached to end this week. It also was the last away before the coming league break for national team games.

Taking the lead right after the starting whistle, Roman Grigorchuk”s side stepped up the pressure over the opponent gate. With 2 minutes into the match, Bakhtiyar Soltanov went one on one with the keeper but he failed to score. Then 3 minutes later, Victor Mendy”s header hit a post before Aleksey Gai”s goaled was not allowed by the referee raising his flag for offside. But the Ukrainian reached his target clinically finishing a superb corner from Javid Huseynov – 1:0. The goal was of debut from Gai for Gabala.

Restarting into the second period on top, Gabala kept up the lead although Ruslan Abishov was an inch off the target. In the 51st minute, Javid ciuld have doubled Gabala”s lead when Inter”s keeper could touch the ball only by his fingers. Another threat was set up by Ruslan Fomin”s off-goal attempt.

Then the home side could gain momentum to level with a header by Aleksandr Amisulashvili – 1:1.

The goal prompted the red-black team to push harder going too close to putting Gabala one ahead with Ekigho Ehiosun failing to utilize confused situation in the other box on 84 minutes.

Just in 2 minutes left, Dmitri Bezotosny gave a great save to his team before Ruslan Abishov scored in the winner converting free kick from Huseynov into the net – 2:1. The goal by the Gabala captain reached the squad to their 4th winning game in a row.
