Gabala accepted Khazar Lankaran in the 21st tour of the Premier League. The squad of Ramiz Mammadov was having a gung-ho spirit as they well understand the much importance of the game. The only deficit of Gabala was Victor Mendy being unable to play with his injury. His absence gave has had Lourival Rodrigues Assis make his debut in 2013. Other Gabala players making their first pace in the starting lineup after the winter brake are Diego Costa Silva and Urfan Abbasov.

With the starting whistle, the home side surged on the ball to get the early lead. Right in the 34th second, Kamanan gave a clinical header to the ball from Aleksandr Chertoganov.

Five minutes later on, the French forward of Gabala went close to grabbing his second seizing on tough mistake of the opponent keeper. But Kamanan gave a brake for a second before being off target.

Shortly after, Khazar Lankaran was drawn into difficulty deflecting the superb powerful of Rashad Abdullayev off the side line.

The team from Lankaran looked regaining the momentum only in the 15th minute with quick attacks but Gabala held on. Chertoganov was substituted with another midfielder Yashar Abuzarov in the middle of the half.

Khazar Lankaran made their first threat in the 29th minute with Sialmas and Elnur Abdullayev in the box. Anyway, it was Gabala leaving the half on top.

Our team came on the second period with counter attacks to protected their lead. The team of Lankaran went to be closest to their goal but home keeper Diego Costa Silva gave a great deflection to stay unbeaten. With two minutes left, Gabala scored again to seal the result of the bitterly disappointing night of Khazar Lankaran. If the visitors did have any hope of revival, they were snuffed out when Dodo set up Kamanan to fire right on target. It was the first double of the latter, who was fouled just a minute later by Vanderson Skarduelli having been sent off.

It could have been much worse for Khazar Lankaran in the closing stage with Dodo having the ball from Yannick but the Brazilian midfielder was off target.

The three points Gabala ground out sealed the team"s place in the top six. Now we are just ahead of the last tour of the qualifying round to face AZAL on Sunday.
