Kakouri hit World Judo Cup silver

Gabala’s Ushangi Kokauri won the World Judo Cup’s silver medal at the National Gymnastics Arena, Baku. Challenging also for the Azerbaijan national team, the 26-year-old had joined the contest from the second stage challenging in the matches of +100 kg against Vladislav Tsiarpitski from Belarus and Maciej Sarnacki from Poland. Progressing into the round of 8, the Gabala hero faced Lukas Krpalek from Czech, who is the winner of the World Cup 2014, Olympics 2016 and European Games 2018. Kokauri reached up to the semifinal match where he beat also Bahmurod Oltiboev from Uzbekistan. And he lost the all-important challenge to Guram Tushishvili from Georgia.

It’s worth to notice Karamat Huseynov took the 5th place in his 60-kg challenge.
