Shooting World Cup in Gabala

Gabala Shooting Club will host the ISSF World Cup Final 2014 from 22 to 28 October.

The contest is to be held in Gabala being organized by the Gabala Shooting Club and Azerbaijan Shooting Federation, as well as powered by National Olympic Committee, Youth and Sports Ministry.

It is the highest order tournament in the list of the ISSF after the World Cup and European Championship. It is well evident by the number of participant states reaching up to 40.  

The championship will be joined by president of the International Shooting Federation Olegario Vazquez Rana, Secretary General of the organization Franz Schreiber, as well as president of the European Shooting Confederation Vladimir Lisin among others.

The World Cup matches are set in 7 rounds and were held in Tucson (USA), Fort Benning (USA), Munich (Germany), Granada (Spain), Maribor (Slovenia) and Almaty (Kazakhstan) during the year. Now 280 top-scorer shooters of the bullet and stand shooting are going to visit Gabala. Azerbaijan will be represented with Nurlana Jafarova and Emin Jafarov (both in round stand), also with Irada Ashumova and Ruslan Lunyov (both in bullet shooting).

The tournament will get under way by opening ceremony at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center on Wednesday. The matches will be broadcast by ISSF TV during 23-27 October.

The World Cup Final is sponsored by Gilan Holding, Jala, Milla, LG, Im tea, Zolotoy sad, Baghdan, Chipsim, SUIS and Adamas companies.
