Stanley Brard, being named to the director of the Gabala Football Academy in April this year, is already on top of his job for the last month. The Dutch specialist, 52, is leading the trainings of the season just started. He gives some tasks to both coaches and players. He talks to the Gabala SC newspaper:

“Sure some changes are expected”

“Presently, we are doing some staffing operations in both playing and coaching staffs. Some new players and coaches have come to the academy in the eve of the season and some more keep coming. We really do have some many players and coaches well established. I am satisfied by what I see here in Gabala. I met the coaching staff of the academy and talked about my future program and principles. If we wish the academy to progress into the better future, we should keep up the discipline highest. I think, after 6 months, we will be able to see something new on the way of our total works.

Sure you will see also some innovations. I gave tasks to the coaching staff on some new exercises. The head coach will work with age groups in the second half of the day after training with the first team before afternoon. So it helps coaches to work each other for more effects. The target is to get them work together. They all have to keep this up.

What about your plans to enhance coachong experience of the coaches?

“I got big plans and will discuss these firstly with the coaching staff. It is possible to use experiences of European clubs and academies. We could make an exchange of experience with Feyenoord, which I worked for a long time. And there are some more clubs we can make collaboration with. We are thinking about working with different clubs having different types of play”. 

It is also possible the A team to accept the playing type of the academy”

“I like the Barcelona style. At time I liked that of Arsenal, too. But the type of play I am planning to build should not be produced by only my practice and vision. The coaches have to understand all these and players have to apply these on the pitch. When we succeed to build our own playing type, it is also possible the all teams to accept this, as well as the A team.

I wish to make some playing style being not depended on one or a more players. Tomorrow you could see no Messi, no Iniesta, no Xavi, but you will see their style always. I will work to see the Barcelona style here in Gabala. Gabala have some players that do not go behind footballers in Spain. Being able to get them grow up the proper level, they can show scoring shows even better than Barcelona. 

Well developed clubs possess long football history. But both Gabala club and academy are very young. Gabala need much more time to develop. The club belongs to up-to-date facilities that are really on the higher level than those of some other clubs in Europe.

“We run some proceedings just like in Barcelona”

I well understand the wish and demands of the club administration. He is keen on growing professional players from  age groups. He wants to see them playing much well for the first squad and national team of Azerbaijan.

Today we have some players in the main team of Gabala produced by the academy. This is just what is going on in Barcelona. I wish we could produce best footballers of the Premier League and the first team. We will try to grow players also for the national team".

Stanley Brard shared his thoughts also on the Premier League attendance of Gabala:

-- Gabala are a team that can keep game under control and has much potential. But there are some players that play very emotionally. The emotion is good, but you need to keep this under control. Premier League is really significant for me. But it is not my job to rule or charge play of the first team and league matches”.
