Our Premier League 4th tour opponent is Sumgayit. The tie was fixed to Sunday. Having their Premier League debut only in the last season, the team of “the city of youth” are going to match against Gabala under their new club name for first, which they changed from Sumgayit Shahar to just Sumgayit.

Gabala gave no point to Sumgayit in the only two games, where our team got possession by 2:1 and 3:1 wins, respectively from away and home events. The both sides failed to keep their gates clean as it is evident from the results. But it is Gabala anyway going better sealing the victories on the trot.

There was a bit symmetry about the both early encounters with two goals for each in the first half. In the outing match, Gabala had already scored the two goals sealing the win in the first period, and the feedback from the opponents in the finishing stage was not be able to upset us. And it was Gabala again opening the scoring at home. But Sumgayit got the momentum to equalize before the half break, but it appeared to be not helpful after we scored 2 more in the second period.

The man of the both nights was Luiz Hilario with the opening goal in Sumgayit, and with the goal putting Gabala ahead, at home, when he came on in the second half after 1:1.

Other Gabala heroes disappointing Sumgayit by 3 more goals were Daniel Lopez Cruz, Serge Djiehoua and Victor Mendy.
