Gabala judo team stroke first place of the traditional Russian Judo Tournament dedicated to the 100the jubilee of Soviet Union hero Shamsulla Aliyev held in Darband 24 to 25 April. The contest was set up for youth born in 2002 to 2003 and joined by also 9 Gabala heroes under the lead of coach Rail Ismayilov. The red-black squad gained 6 medals, including 3 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronzes.

Bandaly Bandaliyev (34 kg), Murad Bashirov (46 kg) and Namaddin Yunusov (55 kg) could beat their all opponents to hit the top on the scene. Osman Osmanly (50 kg) took silver as Novruz Alverdiyev (30 kg) and Umid Aslanov (42 kg) finished 3rd.
