Gabala”s karate challenger Niyazi Aliyev, 67 kg, has earned a sliver medal of the International Bosphorus Open Championship in Istanbul, Turkey. Being organized at the Aslı Çakır Alptekin Atletizm Hall, the contest is the preparation tournament ahead of the European Championship to be held in early May this year, in France.

Aliyev, an integral part of the Azerbaijan national team, was amongst children, youth, teanagers and veterans, altogether 690 challengers from 25 countries joining the contest that is being held for the 29th time. And 109 medals are waiting for its individuals while 26 will go to teams.
