Gabala punished AZAL scoring 4 in cleansheet victory within the 28th tour of the Topaz Premier League in away. They could keep up their winning streak of 5 matches 17 days after the last 2:1 victory over Inter Baku.

Although AZAL started faster, Gabala went much close to scoring when Bakhtiyar Soltanov”s shot was denied by the post. Taking the lead into the 9th minute, the red-black side gave another trouble to the opponents as Javid Huseynov’s pass found Aleksey Gai, but the latter failed to score. A bit later, the Ukrainian midfielder set his compatriot Fomin being off target.

The home side fed back with threat by Tamkin Khalilzadeh kicked the post.

After some more mutual attacks, Javid Huseynov could open the scoring with his inch-perfect shot in the 24th minute.

Right after the goal, Gabala gave no chance to the home to come alive and scored their second with Mendy converting the ball from Gai into the net – 2:0.

The home side threw everything against the guests and at times looked that seemed evident with foul on Gai before Javid”s penalty tripled Gabala”s lead during the half.

Roman Grigorchuk made changes in the line-up after the restart replacing Javid with Rashad Sadigov.

It was AZAL taking faster step again but Dmitri Bezotosny held on clear and in return Gabala said “see this” scoring their 4th in the winner on 86 minutes when Ekigo Ehiosun fired right in the box.

The result left Gabala sitting 4th on the league table.
