On May 28, Azerbaijan celebrates the Republic Day’s 100th anniversary. The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. The order says that May 28, 2018 will mark the centenary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first parliamentary republic in the East.

The "Declaration of Independence" was adopted by the Azerbaijan National Council led by Mamed Emin Rasulzada in Tbilisi, Georgia, on May 28, 1918 and this great date strengthened the desire of the Azerbaijani people for independence. Fatali Khan Khoyski was charged as the head of Azerbaijan’s first Government Administration.
