Gabala”s first official match of 2015, against Baku in the 19th tour of the Topaz Premier League on Sunday, was notable with 6 debuts from head coach Roman Grigorchuk and 5 players. The Ukrainian skipper started with 2:0 victory for the red-black side arriving to be registered the 9th head coach of the club. Before him, there were 8 coaches: Locally-born Ramiz Mammadov (139 games), Faig Jabbarov (44) and Sanan Gurbanov (3), as well as English Tony Adams (47), Russian Yuri Semin (42), Turkish Fatih Kavlak (27), Romanian Dorinel Munteanu (16), Spanish Luis Aragon (6).

Making the starting line-up Rashad Sadigov, Ukrainian Dmitri Bezotosny, Aleksey Gai and Ruslan Fomin, also substitute Mikhail Sivakov could hit their debut, too.

Being 9th amongst the top-scorers, Urfan Abbasov arrived to his 80th match experience for Gabala after 4 seasons, including 72 Azerbaijan league games, 7 domestic cup matches and 1 in European cup.

With his 4th successful penalty shot in the Sunday away against Baku, Javid Huseynov reached up to the top 5 shooters: Kanan Karimov – (7 on target from 8), Leonardo da Silva – (4 from 5), Samir Zargarov – 5 (3), Javid Huseynov, Deon Burton – (both with 4). Generally, Gabala could convert 48 penalty shots into 36 goals.

Gabala Football Academy”s Elvin Jamalov came on his 20th match for the first team. Now the midfielder hits the same stage with Tarzin Jahangirov and goes only behind Mushfig Teymurov with one game.
FC Baku”s Vugar Baybalayev scored own goal registered 9th for Gabala, including Ilgar Ibrahimov (Sharur), Osman Umarov (Shahdagh-2), Royal Hasanov (Vilash), Natig Gasimov (MOIK), Aleksandr Maligin (Simurg), Alves Dos Santos, Shahriyar Rahimov, Lasha Kasiradze (all from AZAL).
