Gabala are going to meet Khazar Lankaran in the semifinal match of the domestic cup at home on Wednesday. The fixture is the 3rd semifinal cup experience on the way to the final round. Having their first-ever cup tie with Khazar Lankaran 6 years ago, the sides were able to score in both matches, but the opponents went ahead by 4:2 on aggregate.

Following the next season, the red-black side met Inter to get tally to the final but the team from capital Baku. Gabala finished both games behind the opponents with 5:2 on aggregate. 

Failing to reach to the semifinal round in the earlier 2 seasons, now Gabala are going to come on for the final round tally by their 3rd effort.
