Gabala are going to face Mariupol (Ukraine), tomorrow, in a trial match of the Bolu training camp in Turkey. The first tie has been fixed to 6:30 pm. AZT at the Hendek Ataturk Stadium on the fourth day of the camp.

Mariupol, founded in 1960, changed their name many times in their path to Azovstal, Azovets, Metallurg, Lokomotiv, Novator and Ilichevets. They took on the last name Mariupol two years ago.

The team played in both USSR and Ukraine lower leagues for many years before coming on premier league debut match in the season 1997/98. Then they stayed out of the topflight championship for some seasons and showed their best results in 2001/02, 2005/06 and 2018/19 ending fourth. The Ukrainian team reached also to the domestic cup semifinal in 2000/01, 2005/06 and 2017/18.

The opponent side appeared also in the UEFA Europa League for two seasons and are getting back to the continental championship again from the 3rd Qualifying Round this season.
