Gabala won 2:0 on Sumgayit in the postponed match of the Azerbaijan Premier League”s third tour. Roman Grigorchuk:s team extended their unbeaten home run to the fourth successive match.
Gabala started faster kept the opponents under sustained period of the pressure from the early minutes. But they were unable to set up a pulsating threat giving some mistakes. And Sumgayit could launch some counter attacks and set up occasion at times when Ozobic looked lost from his midfielder position.
The sides could not break the deadlock in the half.
But it was Gabala taking the lead again after the restart. Then Sergei Zenjov was fielded by Grigorchuk. Later on, Zenjov looked the more likely to score but he failed.
And the game came to life when Ozobich came on and this yielded spectacular results at the other end where Sumgayit keeper Farhad Valiyev gave three saves to his team-mates before denying also Rafael Santos.
The matters were settled in five minutes from the final whistle when Bagali Dabo demonstrated his value once again by scoring his 5th of the season. He met delivery of Zenjov to sweep a finish past the visiting keeper- 1:0.
In the last minute, he sroke in his double to fire Gabala onto top with 13 points.
And Dmytro Bezotosny extended his clear run to 688 minutes.
