Gabala have ended the second premier league leg in a goalless draw with Inter Baku today, at the Dalgha Arena. Roman Grigorchuk”s red-black side started faster and took the lead from the very early minutes with threat on the other end. But Sergei Zenjov in the box failed to finish a superb attack.
Following mutual attacks, the next occasion came out from the opponent side with poor free-kick by Manuel Skarlatake. Then Tellur Mutallimov wnet too close to opening the score but he missed the target. Inter also were unable to set up a pulsating threat. Later on, Asif Mammadov seized on mistake by Inter in the box, but the Gabala footballer failed to kick in.
To make change on the course of the game, Grigorchuk introduced Theo Weeks and Urfan Abbasov after the restart. After a superior pass by Kvekveskiri in the right, Week”s close-range header missed the target in the 48th minute.
The team from Baku tried to feed back with Nizami Hajiyev but Dmytro Bezotosnyi cancelled the goal.
At times, Zenjov surged through the Inter defense to give a powerful kick converted to the post before a corner shot. The ongoing things led to hand foul by Ilkin Girtimov in the box. Kvekveskiri”s penalty effort was denied by the keeper.
Although with some more occasions by both sides, the deadlock was not broken and the game ended in a goalless draw. Gabala kept their clear run to the 2nd match.
