Gabala accepted AZAL in the 4th tour match of the Topaz Premier League. Head coach Dorinel Munteanu introduced the team making some changes with Victor Mendy, Andrei Cristea and Ruslan Taghizadeh joining back the starting line-up. They replaced Yazalde Gomes Pinto, Ekigo Ehiosun and Urfan Abbasov.

Gabala took the lead from very early minutes that could have been followed by opening goal. Aleksandri Bengan looked too close to scoring but opponent keeper Stanislav Namasko gave save to his team. The latter was of best players of the show with his further saves.

It was Gabala keeping the evident lead during the half with Ruslan Abishov and Ruslan Amirjanov.

Then AZAL shot in with penalty after during the extra time of the first period after Eduardo fell down and could not get up struggling Pavol Farkas. Visitor captain Rashad Abdullayev made it goal – 0:1.

After the half time, the red-black side surged forward but again the opponent keeper prevented Gabala from the leveling goal on some occasions.

Munteanu made some changes in the attacking line but it was AZAL againg scoring to double their lead with Karim Diniyev"s unexpected shot.

After the goal, Gabala pushed hard to come from behind and Javid Huseynov, running into the box from the right, earned his team penalty as Shahriyar Rahimov fouled on him. Huseynov hit his second accurate goal from the spot since the season started. It was the last goal of the show and Gabala lost their first home match of the Topaz Premier League season staying at the 4th place on the table with 6 points.
