Gabala, coached by Roman Grigorchuk, won 1:0 home match against Neftchi in the 16th tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League. The sides gave a slow start to the match and first threat set up too late with Neftchi’s Vargas denied by our keeper Bezotosniy. And Kvekveskiri fed back with two troubles to the home side keeper.
After the restart, Gabala stepped up inroads into the visiting defense. Grigorchuk introduced new transfer Daniel Subotic, who joined up with the red-black team again after his 2.5 year break. The Swiss demonstrated his value at his first leg in the 77th minute.
The game ended after stressed minutes when Grigorchuk and one of the visitor coaches were forced off the technical area.
