Gabala won 1:0 on Sumgayit in the first leg of the season’s second half hosting the 15th tour of the league.

Sanan Gurbanov’s red-black team started faster led to early threat by Steeven Monroze in the 9th minute but his effort was denied by the keeper. Then Gabala keeper Dmytro Bezotosniy gave some saves to his teammates deflecting Afran Ismayilov and Oleksiy Isayev. Javid Huseynov set up Steeven Monroze gave a powerfull shot and the returned ball was kicked again by James Adeniyi in the 33rd minute. Later on, Lalavele Atakora went too close to opening the scoring but saw his two shots were deflected by Sumgayit’s keeper.

Going more into the second period, Gabala gave a great trouble to the visiting side when Monroze set up Adeniyi in the box but the latter’ shot was denied by the post. The opener was scored by Monroze with a 24-meter drive. The goal was registered as his 5th in the season and the first of the year for Gabala.
