Gabala have shared 1:1 draw with Sumgayit at home in the third tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League. The red-black team, coached by Sanan Gurbanov, started faster and took the lead in early minutes while the visiting sides were backing on counter attacks. But our keeper Dmytro Bezotosniy stayed clear after some troubles.

Gabala’s first threat was set up by James Adeniyi coming one-on-one with the keeper after a great pass from Ilgar Gurbanov. But the Sumgayit keeper canceled the threat. And in the late minutes of the half, a long cross found Rauf Aliyev fouled by Rail Malikov in the box that led to penalty. The 11-meter drive by Tamkin Khalilzadeh hit the Sumgayit net.

The match restarted by mutual attacks before going into slow show. At times the opponent side looked prompted to level. And Gabala also were all to double their lead. But pulsating efforts by Khalilzadeh and Adeniyi were off the target.

Gurbanov introduced midfielders Lalavele Atakora and Asif Mammadov. The guests scored to level in the stoppage time with Yusif Nabiyev meeting a cross by Shahriyar Aliyev – 1:1.

The result left Gabala with the first draw of the season.
