Gabala have ended in 1:1 draw against Zira within the 24th tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League tonight. Roman Grogorchuk’s team started to home match by quick attacks. Filip Ozobic went too close to scoring in the second minute but saw his free-kick passed wide. Later on, Gabala opened the scoring by early goal with Sergey Zenyov’s 22-meter drive. This was registered as the 13th goal by the Estonian.

The goal prompted the visiting side to step up their inroads into the Gabala defense but the hosts held on. Then Tellur Mutallimov failed to double his team’s lead before Zenyov’s header denied by the post.

Going more into the first period, Zira gained the lead giving some troubles to Dmytro Bezotosniy and the defensive line, keeping up their tough straggle against last tour’s challenges.

Zira’s Sezar Meza Kolli set up threat kicking the post that denied the ball and Vugar Mustafayev also gave another trouble to Gabala with 23-meter shot.

Gabala regained the momentum and looked very close to doubling their lead, but Javid Huseynov’s kick in the box was absorbed by the keeper.

And Ruslan Gurbanov hit the post after Ozobic’s superb pass. Just before the break, the post gave another save to the visitors.

It was Gabala setting up first threat again after the restart and Ozobic’s cross found Gabala players in the box but they lacked correct kick.

Then Zira were able to level as Sezar Meza Colli kicked with 21-meter drive.

After the goal, Gabala pushed very hard to going one ahead again before Zenyov’s header on 63 minutes was deflected by the opponent goalkeeper. Nika Kvekveskiri’s free-kick passed wide of goal.

Although some more mutual attacks and pulsating moments, the sides were unable to score one more and the game ended in a draw.
