Gabala lost to Neftchi in a home match of the Azerbaijan Premier

League’s 18th tour.

 

The game started by mutual attacks. Gabala looked with more efforts

going more into the match time. Neftchi mdfielder Namig Alasgarov’s

surge into the Gabala defense denied by the post in the 31st minute.

Gabala fed back with threat by Filip Ozobic telegraphed into the left

where Yusif Nabiyev was a part of the opener goal by Elvin Mammadov.

 

After the restart, Famussa Kone looked too close to doubling Gabala’s

lead but saw his effort passed wide. Neftchi’s Mirabdulla Abbasov

leveled after a mistake in the Gabala defense 1:1. The goal prompted

the home side to set up their efforts but they were unable to set up

an occasion. Later on, Ignasio Herrera put Neftchi one ahead again.

 

The sustained period of attack by the red-black team led to a foul by

Yusif Nabiyev forced off with a red card. After going down to ten,

Gabala looked pushing hard to leveling but Ozobic failed on the target

from a point close to the box.
