Gabala lost to Sabah with 2:1 in a home match of the Azerbaijan Premier League’s tenth tour.

Gabala, coached by Elmar Bakhshiyev, started faster and gained momentum in early minutes, but their efforts went out of the goal. Fernan Lopez, Merab Gigauri, Clesio Bauque and Davit Volkov set up some threats but were unable to shot in.

Going more into the game, the visiting side set up some counter attacks but Ananr Nazirov held on clear. A header by Clesio went wide of the goal in the 36th minute.

It was Gabala scoring in the opener just ahead of the break when Clesio capitalized on the ball and telegraphed to Volkov shot in.
 
After the half-time, Sabah’s Javid Imamverdiyev leveled. Later on, Volkov could have scored for Gabala’s second but his close-range shot was off the target. A free kick by Gismat Aliyev and a superb shot from Asif Mammadov could not help to score again. Another counter attack from Sabah put them one ahead – 2:1.

Further efforts by Volkov, Ivitsa Junic and Ulvi Isgandarov were unable to level.
