Gabala won 2:1 on AZAL in the fifth tie of the sides within Azerbaijan Cup. The pace of the match started by quick attacks by Gabala but the visiting side’s defense held on. AZAL looked backing on counter attacks led to some troubles against our keeper Dmytro Bezotosniy. And it was the team from Baku shooting opener with Mirzagha Huseynpur. This was the only goal of the half.
After the restart, Gabala came from behind and leveled in the 61st minute as Croatian footballer Filip Ozobic set a great shot past the opponent keeper.
The goal gave more dynamism to Gabala’s display that seemed as a matter of time before Ruslan Gurbanov doubled his team’s lead. After the final whistle, the red-black team reached to their third win following also one draw and one loss to AZAL in the domestic cup.
The reverse match will be on December 21st, at the AZAL Arena.
