Gabala took 3:1 home victory on Neftchi in the opener of the Azerbaijan Premier League’s second round, 8th tour. The last season winner sides gave a quick start to the game. Gabala’s Elvin Jamalov capitalized on the ball to launch an attack followed by Lalavele Atakora. The latter telegraphed to Steeven Monroze set up James Adeniyi gave a powerful shot passed the Neftchi keeper - 1:0. Javid Huseynov went too close to scoring Gabala’s second, but he failed to reach the target.

After the restart, Monroze doubled Gabala’s lead in the 57th minute. After the goal the visiting side stepped up their intoads into the Gabala defense but our keeper Agil Mammadov hel on clear. The home side went down to ten after Khalilzadeh’s second yellow card. Our one more fast attack led to the third goal against Neftchi when Monroze gave a perfect pass to Adeniyi scoring his double. And the visitors scored back only one in the stoppage time with Kvame Karikari.

The result reached Gabala to their second victory of the season.
