Being all for getting a foothold in the rank of domestic league champions, Gabala have met AZAL today. The red-black side took the home match of the 35th tour with 2:0.
The match started by mutual attacks and Roman GrigorchukƏs red-black team took the lead with early minutes into the game. They even show up with some threats from Ermin Zec. The opener was scored by Asif Mammadov finishing a perfect pass from Urfan Abbasov in the 20th minute. This was registered as his 7th goal for Gabala.
The goal pushed the visitors to step up their inroads into the red-black defense but Gabala held on clear.
It was Gabala keeping up the lead again in the 2nd period. Asif and Ermin kept the opponent defense under sustained period of pressure. Backing on counter attacks, AZAL put on some inroads but Grigorchuk”s defense stayed unbeaten. The Gabala head coach strengthened the forward line introducing Oleksiy Antonov and Rashad Eyyubov.
With the 2:0 victory, Gabala have extended their points up to 56.
