Gabala have accepted Baku in the 26th leg of the Topaz Premier League. The tie was of much importance for Gabala to move up to the 5th place in the league table and to keep going towards the Eurocup matches. As well, it has arrived to be the 100th home event of Gabala"s senior team. 

The pace of the game got underway by mutual attacks. The guests looked faster for early minutes with some threats but Gabala"s defensive  line and keeper held on. In return, the red-black half of the pitch stepped up the pressure led to the opening in the 30th minute. Victor Mendy seized on the mistake from the visiting defence and past the wrong-footed keeper to fire home - 1:0.

Gabala kept the attacks going on after the restart. Rashad Abdullayev and Assis worked into the other end from both flanks with some real threats but they both were off-target.

The visitors threw everything at the back line of the home side in the closing stage. Gabala stayed clear during the sustained period of pressure that ended with penalty in the 3rd minute of the extra time. Referee Anar Salmanov snuffed out the hopes of Gabala giving suspicious order to gift Baku"s Rauf Aliyev a spot kick past our keeper- 1:1.

It is the second league match that Gabala have been letting the victory go away on the break.
