Gabala becoming capital of shooting sports

Gabala Shooting Club"s vise president Elvin Ismayilov and technical manager Emin Jafarov attended the Munich Workshop of the International Shooting Sport Federation held on 23 to 24 November 2013, where Nazim Jafarov, vise president of the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation also participated. The delegation of Azerbaijan could meet ISSF President Olegario Vazquez Rania and Secretary General  Franz Schreiber. With some significant details, the event also set up discussion of  IFFS"s activity plan on the upcoming years, and it was ordered to organize the international contest in Gabala. The deal allows Gabala to host both Grand-Prix on Olympic shooting sports in 2014 to be dedicated to the memory of diseased national leader Heydar Aliyev and World Cup final before the 2015 World Cup matches, kind of license contest ahead of the 2016 Olympic.

It is expected 1600 to 1800 sportsmen to visit Gabala in 2015 to join the World Cup of 30 licenses. Gabala will be pushing hard to organize the tournaments at the highest order as the country is well experienced on hosting such international contests. 
So the first high-level shooting tournaments were trusted to Azerbaijan to held. Now intended to be set up at SC Gabala"s Shooting Club facilities. It also will help out to reveal some new good Olympic sportsmen.

Meftahaddinova (stand shooting) earned her gold from the Sidney Olympics games
in 2001 before the 2004 Athens Olympics  when she and Irada Ashumova (bullet shooting) reached to the 3rd place.
