Gabala broke record beating Ravan

Gabala, beating Ravan 3:1 in 14th round of the Topaz Premier League, reached into the leaders group of the domestic championship gaining 4th victory in a row. The last away is following 3 victories: 2:0 over Kapaz at home on 19 November, 2:1 over both Neftchi at home on 3 November and Garabagh in away on 31 October. Holding on unbeaten after the 0:1 defeat to Turan at home on 27 October, Gabala now have beaten their record that include only 3 victories in all league seasons ever. Since our first-ever league season, 2006/07, we gained the 71st victory in all 7 league periods.

A triple victory was sealed 5 times over the 6-year record path of the FC Gabala, which were held by 3 defeats and 2 draws. The squad of Ramiz Mammadov took victory on ABN and Turan with the same 2:1 result, as well as 6:0 on Ganjlarbirliyi in 2007/08. But our team were prevented from their 4th by 0:1 defeat to Masally.

The next triple win of Gabala came out in 2009/10 when they beat Olimpik 2:1, also Neftchi and Turan with the same 1:0, before being stopped by Baku with 0:2 three years ago during the Ramiz Mammadov reign.

Another Gabala hero coach other than Mammadov is Tony Adams with two triples. In his debut 2010/11 season, his team defeated Garabagh 2:1, Simurg and Mughan in the same 2:0, but they were unable to beat AZAL in the goalless draw. With the second round, Gabala kept up clean sheet for three victories, where they beat Simurg with 4 goals, MOIK 3 goals and Turan 1 goal. And it was AZAL again giving an end to the triple with another draw - 2:2.

The last coach of Gabala Fatih Kavlak also has his one triple, in 2011/12 with 1:0 over Simurg, 2:0 on Khazar Lankaran and 4:0 against Ravan just before the 2:3 loss to Kapaz.
