Gabala played against AZAL in a 3:3 draw within the Topaz Premier League 12th tour. After a short break following the national championships period, the away match was expected as a hard practice for Gabala with some lacks of midfielders - Ruslan Abishov and Elvin Jamalov - with full limit of yellow cards, also Injured Victor Mendy and Alexandru Benga, as well as Ruslan Amirjanov and Vladimir Levin. With the situation, head coach Dorinel Munteanu gave a chance to Sadig Guliyev to be introduced as a midfielder.

Although all these shortages in the staff, it was Gabala having the lead in their outing over the full 90 minutes. But the red-black side could gain only one point at the end.

In the first period, Gabala came one ahead with Javid Huseynov"s cross touching Lasa Kasradze and converting in. Shortly after the own goal, the home side fed back with Eduardo"s header. Later on, Javid looked close to scoring Gabala"s second by his threatening off-target header.
The course of the second half run by the same way with Gabala"s possession on the show. Gabala stayed behind as the opponents scored two more although our faster attacks, but the home side backed on their counter attacks. The team from Baku scored their all 3 goals by headers. But when it was 2:1 with the lead of AZAL, Markinyos of Gabala took a cool pass from Javid to give a clinical finish - 2:2. The game turned out into a see-saw performance of the sides but our keeper Kamran Aghayev, gave a great save for his team denying opponent attacker in one-on-one situation. After AZAL went one ahead again, Markinyos earned penalty chance for Gabala, which Javid shot in the level again.

The night in Baku was also a notable experience for Bakhtiyar Soltanov with his debut for Gabala being introduced as a substitute. But he could not help his teammates to win the game and the match Gabala are coming back home only with one point from the 3:3 draw.
