Gabala won 4:1 over Neftchi in the next tenth leg of the Azerbaijan Premier League. Roman Grigorchuk’s red-black team started faster. Our early opener was cancelled by Vance Sikov denying Sergei Zenjov before Vitaliy Vernydub missed the target.
Gabala opened scoring in the twelfth minute when Rashad Eyubov’s goalbound shot was denied by the keeper and the returned ball was powered by Zenjov to finish clinically.

Neftchi also gave some troubles to our keeper Dmytro Bezotosniy but both side were unable to change the score up to the half-time.

After the restart, Araz Abdullayev leveled for the white-black team breaking Gabala’s clean-sheet run of the last six home matches. Just ten minutes later, the hosts scored one again with Zenjov’s double converting in a superb pass from Ricardinho. This was the Estonian’s eleventh double for Gabala.

Later on, Filip Ozobic’s pass found  Asif Mammadov to double Gabala’s lead – 3:1 with his eighth goal for the club. Gabala kept up dominating and scored the last goal on the show after a costly error from Neftchi’s Shikov coming one on one with our Eyubov. The latter fired in for his fourth goal at Gabala.
After the final whistle, the red-black squad fortified their place on top with 24 points.
