Gabala have punished Zira with 5:1 in the return home match of the Azerbaijan Cup round of 8 today. After the 2:1 away victory, Roman Grigorchuk”s side hit a tally to the semifinal.
Gabala started really faster that led to the very early opener by Oleksiy Gai in the 5th minute when he finished a good pass from Arif Dashdamirov. And 7 minutes after, the home side doubled their lead with the 2nd by Gai.
The two goals did not slowed Gabala down and kept the quick attacks to the 3rd goal as Rashad Sadigov disappointed the guests. But after this goal, Gabala looked cooled down a bit and Zira seized on this to score 1 with Nurlan Novruzov. But the matter seemed settled before the half-time.
Grigorchuk introduced Rashad Eyyubov to the second period and it seemed as a good matter of time before Gabala scored 2 more with Sadigov and Ermin Zec- 5:1.
The result left Zira drooling and put Gabala ahead to the semifinal.
