Gabala hit tally to domestic cup round of eight line-up

Gabala 2:2 Zagatala / Penalty- 4:1

Gabala won Azerbaijan Cup’s home match against Zagatala in their twelfth season experience that started from the round of sixteen. Roman Grigorchuk’s red-black team started faster and kep quick attacks led to an opener with Vojislav Stankovic. This was the Serbian’s second goal for Gabala, as well as first in the cup. The goal has registered also as the seventy fifth in the championship. 

Shortly after, the First Division opponent side fed back to level in the 32nd minute with Sarkhan Abdullayev. But it was Gabala leaving the half on top as Rashad Eyubov put his team one ahead.

After the break, Zagatala looked faster with some many threatening attacks that seemed as a matter of time before Oruj Balashly scored to level again. 

Although both sides pushed harder to score the all-important goal, they were unable to finish and after the final whistle, the game was extended to the next thirty minutes before going into penalty shootout. As Zagatala failed on their two efforts, Gabala’s four successful goals put them to the next round of eight for their ninth experience. 

First matches of the round are fixed to December 11 to 13, and the reverse games will be held during 20 to 21 December. Our team will host the first tie of the round against AZAL.
