Gabala hit the tally to domestic cup final making 1:1 draw with Khazar Lankaran in return away after the 3:0 win over the southern team and the red-black side were evidently much close to the final game with their clean sheet victory.
The pace of the match started by attacks from the home side but Gabala pushed on with counter attacks against the team of Mustafa Denizli. Our pressure led to the 21st- minute opener by Victor Mendy and Gabala left the half on top – 1:0.
The restart kept the same way in the second period but it was Gabala again holding on. The home side were able to relieve their earlier nervous right 9 minutes after the restart with Nildo scoring to level. After the goal, the white-green side threw everything at Gabala but they were unable to go one more and the game ended in 1:1 leaving Gabala as the better team on the aggregate goal rule. The result reached Gabala up to the final cup game for the first in our all club history.
