SC Gabala”s 2 judokas have highlighted the club and Azerbaijan at the first-leg match of the European Youth Judo Cup being held in Belsko-Byala, Poland.

Rovshan Aliyev, 50-kg, beat his all opponents to hit the gold medal. He could develop into the final after defeating Claudiu Neagu (Romania), Valentino Krnyic (Austria), Sandro Dzamashvili (Georgia) and Csanad Fecko (Hungary). He won over Uqo Maçeferi (France) in the all-important fight.

Shahana Hajiyeva, 44 kg, is another gabala hero other than Aliyev.

After beating Vasiliki Kourri (Cyprus) and Ozge Andic (Turkey), she reached up to the semifinal where she lost to Anastasia Perekhrest (Ukraine). Then Hajiyeva could beat Justin Gaubert to earn a bronze medal.
