Today, Gabala have defeated Khazar Lankaran 2:0 at 5th tour home match of the Topaz Premier League. The team of Yuri Semin showed their resilience repeating the last tie"s result on the same pitch, also putting an end to the two-match winless streak.
With the very early minutes, the visitors were faster and Nildo was under the spotlight. His shot was denied by the post in the 27th minute appearing to be the biggest threat on the show from the guests. The game shifted decisively towards the red-black half of the field and we kept the lead up by the final whistle. The deadlock was broken only in the 38th minute by Leonardo Da Silva with sublime throw-over shot past Orkhan Sadigly. Gabala"s Ebicilio and Nizami Hajiyev looked very close to doubling their lead but their efforts were off target.
It was Gabala keeping up the lead also after the restart. It led to scoring their second just after the hour mark when Lorenzo Ebecilio curled the ball in the winner from the edge of the box that long past the keeper - 2:0.
