Gabala bitterly disappointed Khazar Lankaran with a clean-sheet victory scoring 6 in the 7th tour home match of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
The red-black side started to the game with a very early opener by Dodo, in the 8th second, registering his shot to be of fastest goals ever in the domestic league history. Fakundo Pereyra”s long-range pass found the Brazilian midfielder coming one on one with the visitor keeper to finish clinically. The goal was his 28th for Gabala, including 23 in the domestic topflight.
Pereyra doubled Gabala”s lead in the 10th minute, when Oleksiy Gai met the ball in the box after a Samir Zargarov cross from the right and Pereyra fired in from close range. With the goal, the Argentina-based footballer opened his scoring for Gabala.
And in the closing minute of the 1st half, Sergei Zenjov”s long-range drive met Oleksiy Gai to score in the 3rd of the Roman Grigorchuk side. The goal was registered as the Ukrainian player”s 4th in the season allowing him to sit on top of the scorers table of the championship.
The 3:0 on the scoring sheet affected to the course of the second period as the home side seemed slowed down with the comfortable lead, and this led to some mutual attacks.
But it was Gabala being faster on the show anyway that was evident also with the occasion when Zargarov came one on one with the Khazar Lankaran goalkeeper before falling down in the area but the opponent team stayed clear off punishment.
Gabala mounted a sustained period of pressure that seemed as a matter of time before the more goals in 17 minutes left when Aleksey Antonov prodded in on before Pereyra scored in his double extending Gabala”s lead to 5:0.
And the last goal punishing the visitor squad came out by Ermin Zec on 89 minutes.
With the result, Gabala hit the highest scoring of the season, repeating the biggest ever in all Premier League experiences of the red-black side. Just cast your mind back to the away match against Ganjlarbirliyi (6:0) in Sumgayit on November 11, 2007.
And it is worth to remind that our highest scoring at home was gained over Shahdagh (Guba) in the cup game (6:0) on October 16, 2006.
